My MOTAT Experience

On Tuesday we went to MOTAT and after we went there we had to right a story about what we did. So here is my story.
Whoa! The olden day phones are no where the same as phones nowadays.

On Tuesday at Waikowhai Primary went to visit MOTAT by bus. When we got there we were truly astonished by the technology there and the different types of transport.
We were all split up into different groups. There were “aahs” and “oohs” as we went past the tech there. We had a nice walk when finally we came across a massive white dome. We walked amazed inside the massive igloo and sat inside.
Then our Leaders came inside the people who would be guiding us throughout the day.

So first my group experienced the Terrific Tram Ride! When we got inside the tram me and my friends raced to the back and a nice comfy seat. “All Aboard!” shouted our conductor. And at that moment we started  moving. We started off slow but we gained speed and crossed the road and back again. At the end of the excitement our conductor gave us a history lesson about trams.

Next the group travelled to the Da Vinci Hall. Where all the machines are. Mostly all the machines were made out of wood. There was even a bike made out of wood. There was even a product that hammered nails by itself, you don’t have to hammer a nail with hand. There also another machine that collects water from the ground. It’s sort of like a drill that has a little tube that collects water and it runs up the drill until it hits a hole and the water flows into a bucket.

A while later we had our own time to explore the different things in MOTAT. During our exploration time my group went to the Telephone Area. This is where all the olden day phones were. Me and my friend, Maanov were gobsmacked that the phones still worked. I called him through the phone and I was amazed that I heard his voice come right through the phone. We laughed together hardcore. I examined the phone and I found out you had to spin the number instead of pressing buttons on a touchscreen. Overall that was my favourite room of all.

A little bit later my mum had a surprise for us. My mum (the Leader of our Group) said we were going to see a Ferrari. I didn’t believe her at first but when I saw the Ferrari I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was a gray Ferrari.
Eventually it was time to go home. After all that I couldn’t wait to tell my dad what happened. I loved MOTAT.
